CHATEAU DE CANISY
Chateau de Canisy, the ancestral home of Count Denis de Kergorlay, is the historic castle of your dreams. Turrets and towers, renaissance reception rooms, sumptuous bedrooms and landscaped gardens await discovery. The Count's ancestor, a knight of William the Conqueror, constructed the original castle in the 11th century, and the chateau has remained in the same family for nearly a thousand years. Now the property has been meticulously restored, and furnished with impeccable taste. All 18 rooms have private bath or shower room, WIFI and telephone. Breakfast and other meals are served by the in-house staff in the baronial splendour of the late-16th-century dining room. Independent travellers or groups of up to 40 can stay here. Corporate events, concerts and smaller weddings can be hosted in the spacious reception rooms.
Thirty hectares of landscaped parkland surround the chateau. Swans sail gracefully across the lakes, deer sprint across the manicured lawns, and there’s an animal park, bicycles, archery and fishing to keep everyone entertained.
Canisy is in the central Manche region, midway between Mont Saint Michel and the Normandy landing beaches. Every visit to Canisy is an unforgettable experience.
